SPONSORS
Lagan Legacy wishes to thank all of the following supporters and sponsors and acknowledge their generous contributions to the 'Homeplace' project.
Without Laganside Corporation the project was a non-starter. Laganside has long championed worthwhile projects which have contributed to its hugely successful regeneration programme and this project represents another, perhaps final, part of that considerable achievement.
The mooring for the barge alone, at prestigious Lanyon Quay, is a generous and visionary contribution to the future development of the River Lagan and will pave the way for similar projects in the future. Laganside has also supported the project financially, as they have supported other Lagan Legacy projects in the past, and given us the impetus to get the project underway.
Belfast City Council too, has been a sterling supporter of a range of projects since Lagan Legacy's inception in 2003. Again, the City Council's Economic Development Department has stepped up to the mark with a healthy financial contribution to the first phase of the project to purchase the vessel and transport it from Holland to Belfast.
Belfast City Council's contribution was supported by funding from European Union Structural Funds.
Belfast Harbour Commissioners have generously contributed a number of artefacts and equipment towards the refitting of the M.V. Confiance
The impending dissolution of Laganside Corporation brought the first phase of the project to a make-or- break stage in terms of leveraging the remaining funding for the purchase of the vessel. A considerable sum was still urgently needed in order to comply with Laganside funding deadlines and still avail of their contribution.
Ulster Garden Villages subscribed willingly and generously to our vision and made a significant contribution which made the vital difference at a crucial time and saw an ambitious and exciting dream take one more step towards becoming a reality.
Throughout the entire project, and in its initial planning stages, Lagan Boat Company has supported the project financially as well as by committing its own resources over a considerable period of time.
The Sheridan Group also quickly identified the potential for future development of similar projects on Queens Quay and generously offered their financial support to progress the economic appraisal for the project.
Arthur Acheson, a senior partner in the Boyd Partnership, has long supported all creative development on the River Lagan and has generously given of his time and resources to further the 'Homeplace' project
Kingsberry Fuels played a critical part in the transport of 'Confiance' from Holland to Belfast by purchasing a load of coal to act as ballast thus saving Lagan Legacy the cost of sourcing other ballast material which may have proved difficult to dispose of in Belfast.
John Crane Engineering of Ballymena generously donated a significant quantity of equipment to help outfit the interior of the Confiance for which we are extremely grateful. Another vital step towards our final objective
