Barge Launch Event
The ’Homeplace’ project was launched today at an event at Harbour View restaurant on Lanyon Quay.
The official launch of the Homeplace Project was held today in the prestigious Harbour View Restaurant.
The turn out was impressive with over 60% of the invitation list in attendance.
Our research adminstrator Charlie Warmington welcomed our guests with an extremely humerous and well informed speech which extended a hearty welcome and set a very relaxed tone for the event.
Representatives from our main funders made short speeches wishing the project well:
Cllr Michael Brown spoke on behalf of Belfast City Council's Economic Development Dept.
Marti Boyd (CEO of Ulster Garden Villages) followed councillor Brown with warm wishes for the success of the project.
Finally Tony Hopkins wished the project well on behalf of Laganside Corporation.
Besides the keynote speakers, most of the other key agencies in Belfast were represented.
These including the Heritage Lottery Fund, The Arts Council, Belfast Harbour Commissioners, Titanic Quarter Ltd, Belfast Welcome Centre, Belfast Titanic Society, Nomadic Preservation Society along with directors of most of the major Belfast Festivals (Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival, Open House, Belfast Film Festival, Festival at Queens, Francis McPeake International Summer School, Pan Arts Festival etc) all of whom are keen to make use of the Arts venue space when it opens.
